Data Link Institute (University College) takes its origins from the Data Link Company Ltd (DLCL), which has.been operating as a charitable educational enterprise with the immense assistance from Ms. Jo Hasbury of the University of Derby. It was incorporated in 1993 by Mr. Ernest Ansah, a Ghanaian national, then resident in the UK and working with the UK Government. Its head office was sited at Takoradi.The company's primary objective was to take advantage of the Founder's contacts overseas to source for educational resources from other countries, especially, the UK, to be used to advance the cause of education in Ghana.
