The Faculty of Engineering which currently comprises the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering evolved out of the former Deparment of Applied Engineering Science (AES) when the KNUST School of Mines, Tarkwa attained a University College status on 1st October, 2001. There are plans to introduce more engineering programmes like Computer Engineering and Information Technology (IT). Presently the programmes being run under the Faculty are B.Sc Mechanical and B.Sc. Electrical Engineering.
