Thirty five students in the Upper East Region have been presented with GH¢100 vouchers each to purchase products of their choice to support their educational pursuit. The presentation which was done by Nestle Ghana and Radio Style, a private radio station in Bolgatanga in the Upper East region formed part of Nestle/Radio Style” Maggie Mixpy 2011 promotion”. The students who were made to answer questions relating to nutritional products produced by Nestle Ghana travelled to Melcolm Shop in Tamale where they bought items including cocking utensils, bags of rice, shoes, dresses, television sets, video decks among other goods. Abane Ayinyelya, a student of Sunyani Polytechnic told the Ghana News Agency that the support of Nestle Ghana had assisted him to buy a mattress to support his academic pursuit. Mr Mark Akubire Atia, a physically challenged person and a student of the University College of Winneba said the support he had received would facilitate his efforts to purchase a computer. The Sales Representative of Nestle Ghana in charge of Northern Region, Mr Raphael Anyane said the programme formed part of the social responsibility of his outfit. The Managing Director of Radio Style, Ms Ania Ajuno said her outfit decided to embark on the programme because of the poverty endemic situation of the Region, which made it difficult for many parents to meet the educational of their wards.
