ACCRA will go gay on Thursday, February 14 with thousands of activities to mark Valentine’s Day, dubbed Chocolate Day in Ghana.
Chocolate Day, officially launched in the country on February 14, 2007, is to promote the consumption and sale of cocoa and cocoa products.
As part of activities to make this year’s Chocolate Day memorable, actress and presenter, Akumaa Mama Zimbi would be hosting a programme dubbed ‘Chocolate Night’. The programme is scheduled to take place at the Earlbeam Hotel Basement Night Club, located off the Achimota motorway extension, opposite Gateway Services Ltd (GSL) from 9pm till day break.
According to a release issued in Accra by the presenter’s publicist last Wednesday, the event is to promote the consumption of Ghanaian chocolate.
It noted that the ceremony would be backed with entertaining and romantic packages, revealing, “the event is also aimed at matching people for a long lasting relationship”.
In attendance would be comedians, musicians, dancers and showbiz personalities.
First of its kind, Chocolate Night has interesting packages including free entry for the first 20 ladies. There would also be the ‘Akumaa Mama Zimbi Chocolate Award’ for 2008. This award is for the best two couples of the night who will also get free launch, free executive hotel room and breakfast for two, according to the release.
There will further be other surprises from Akumaa Mama Zimbi for patrons.
