Didier Drogba has blasted the Chelsea boo-boys who targeted Arsenal captain William Gallas during Sunday's 2-1 victory. Drogba, who scored twice in the second half, said: "The fans should show William Gallas a bit more respect after everything he did for the club. He won two League titles when he was a Chelsea player and he did a lot." Chelsea claimed that Gallas had threatened to score an own goal if it did not let him leave for Arsenal in the summer of 2006 - an accusation that the French defender has always denied. The win put Chelsea in second place and back in the hunt for a third Barclays Premier League crown. So, coach Avram Grant said confidently: "We will do our best to win it. To play attacking football and score goals is more important than anything." But after hearing a torrent of boos from Chelsea fans, Gallas revealed that there was more to his decision to swap the Pensioners for the Gunners than met the eye. At the time of his acrimonious departure in 2006, rumours were rife that the Frenchman had threatened to score an own goal if he was not allowed to leave Jose Mourinho's side, though he said he was nothing short of professional during his Stamford Bridge tenure. Gallas told Sky Sports: "I think the fans boo me because they did not know the truth about why I left Chelsea. Maybe I have to say the truth and maybe they will respect me. "It's true I spent five years there and I gave the maximum. What the Chelsea club said about me, it was not true." Gallas, 30, has represented Caen and Marseille as well as the two London clubs.
