Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak yesterday went ‘up in arms’ against head coach of the club, Eyal Lachman, calling for his head after the team drew goalless against Real Tamale United in their 20th week Onetouch Premier League match played at the Ohene Djan Stadium. According to the fans, the coach had displayed technical bankruptcy in player selection since assuming the coaching position and his output in yesterday’s game summed up their concerns. Confronting the head of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the club, Mr Harry Zakour, after the game in harsh tones amidst insults, the fans called for the immediate termination of the coach’s contract with the club before the team’s crunch tie against arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their 19th week outstanding match scheduled for the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. For them, the claims by the coach that the newly recruited players were not up to standard said players performed to their satisfaction in matches they featured in. In the game itself, Hearts began on a bright note knowing a win will boost their ambitions of a top four finish at the end of the season. Midfielder Kofi Abanga hit the woodwork in the 23rd minute followed by a 35th minute opportunity missed by Bernard Don Bortey who with only goalkeeper Charles Kipo to beat shot woefully into his arms to cap a first half of wastes in front of goal. Back from recess, both teams looked ordinary with the homesters’ slightly on top but messed up begging chances that came their way with substitute Raphael Obeng , Ishmael Addo and Eric Gawu being the worse culprits .
