Joseph Mensah was born at Hinahini in the Ashanti region on May 14, 1976 to Mr. Ali Agandago, a farmer and Mad Ama Ateanap a trader who all hails from Zebila in the Upper west region.
Joe attended Agogoso School, after completing junior secondary school he could not his education due to financial difficulties. He went on to learn a vocation in masonry, which he is practicing now.
Joe started singing and writing of songs since age twelve in the year 2000 he decided to come out with an album.
with the usual difficulty in securing a producer, in 2002 he was able to come with his debut album Kakyereno which was produced by Elder Samuel Anyan.
Promotion of this album was not effective and this album did not do well because the producer had to go through some personal difficulties, but they were able to sell twenty thousand copies.
In 2003, he joined Ankobeahene records and came out with his second album Anadwo Bogya that was an instant hit.
They sold two hundred thousand copies, he was nomited for song of the year, and artiste of the year at the Ghana gospel music awards 2004.
In 2005 he came out with his latest album Okyenamesre (I will laugh tomorrow) also with the same producer. This album has sold about eighty thousand copies and still selling.
Joe hopes to come out with his next album in 2006 with a new producer since there has been some disagreement between him and his present producer.
Joseph enjoys playing soccer and listening to music and has Elder Mireku as his role model.
