DESPITE FALLING 0-2 to Dolphin FC of Nigeria in the first leg of their Africa Confederations Cup elimination encounter, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are bubbling with hope. Kotoko come face-to-face with Dolphins FC at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend, but connoisseurs of the game are skeptical about their chances of progressing at the expense of the Nigerians. The skepticism notwithstanding, Kwame Baah Nuako, Communications Director of the Porcupine Warriors sharply disagrees with the faint-hearted, insisting Kotoko have the power, character and zeal to trounce their guests to move to the next stage. “Just as we defeated Wikki Tourists of Nigeria to qualify, so will we do to Dolphin FC at Kumasi. Come what may Kotoko will qualify at the expense of Dolphin FC and this is a promise to the teeming fans that seemed to have lost hope”. Baah Nuako admitted that the battle is daunting, but gave the assurance that it is not beyond Kotoko. “We shall surmount Dolphin FC scare and move forward”, he noted, adding, “Don’t forget Kotoko, faced with the same situation in 1987, managed to by-pass almighty Zamalek to the next stage in Kumasi and we will do it this time too”. The Kotoko Communications Director said the team’s management would go the extra mile to motivate the players heavily to die a little for the cause of Kotoko, stressing that the technical team and playing body is battle ready and would glitter on the day.
