THERE WAS shortage of akpeteshie and other alcoholic drinks in the Volta Regional capital, Ho on Sunday following the victory of the Ghana Black Stars in the quarter final game against their Nigerian counterparts in the ongoing 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
In Ho, the regional capital, fans holding miniature flags stormed the principal streets and drinking spots amidst singing and tooting of horns.
Some drinking spot operators interviewed by DAILY GUIDE complained about shortage of drinks, particularly akpeteshie and Guinness, after Ghanas victory.
The atmosphere in the regional capital became more electrified after the victorious goal from Junior Agogo at the eleventh hour, as some drummers joined in the celebration along the streets with excited fans dancing their hearts out.
Drinking spots were again filled to capacity as people, both men and women, rushed to the spots to fire their bodies up for further jubilation.
The jubilant crowd later converged on the Civic Center, a popular venue in the Ho township, where football fans engaged in several hours of more intense drumming and dancing.
As at Monday morning some people were still in jubilant mood, while discussions at workplaces visited by the paper bordered on Sundays match. From Edem Adesi
