On Sunday February 3 at 21:00 CAT, Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar-winning director and writer of A Beautiful Mind, reunite to bring Dan Brown’s THE DA VINCI CODE, one of the most popular novels of our time, to M-NET audiences across Africa. Starring the two-time Academy Award-winner, Tom Hanks and produced by Oscar-winner Brain Grazer and John Calley, the story tells about the investigation started by symbolist Robert Langdon and a good-looking cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, around the murder of a Museum Louvre’s curator. In fact, the unfortunate murdered man was Sophie’s grandfather, and the corpse was found with a series of symbols and codes, like a pentagram and a Fibonacci number sequence. But police detective Fache will begin to chase Langdon, who escapes after receiving a warning about the captain’s real intentions.  Also on M-Net this month, the sexy Keanu Reeves and the talented Sandra Bullock reunite for the first time since speed in 1994 when they star in THE LAKE HOUSE.  Premiering on Monday February 4 at 22:00 CAT, THE LAKE HOUSE is a romantic comedy about Alex Wyler (Reeves), an architect, and Kate Forster (Bullock), a doctor, living in 2004 and 2006 respectively. Kate, who has just started working in a hospital in Chicago, is moving out from her lake house, built all of it with glass, and is moving to a new flat in the center of the city. Alex is the new owner of the lake house and is working in the construction of a new complex of houses at the city skirts.  Alex and Kate are maintaining a correspondence, talking about the house matters, sending each other letters, which are put in the lake house’s letter box. But a strange thing is happening, because both of them find out that the letter box is working as a kind of time communication channel, between the year 2004, where Alex’s living, and 2006, the year that Kate’s actually living. After sending each other many letters talking about their lives, and Kate talking to Alex about how life will be in two years, the two fall in love. However they may never meet each other, because of the time distance, or will they? To find out stay tuned!  Then on Sunday February 10 at 20:00 CAT, Cameron Diaz stars alongside Kate Winslet, Jack Black and Jude Law in a romantic comedy, THE HOLIDAY. Two beautiful women, Amanda Woods (Diaz) and Iris Simpkins (Winslet) both find themselves at the end of failed relationships just before Christmas. Amanda decides to take a two-week vacation and surfs the internet. She meets Iris online, and they agree to swap their homes for the holidays. Amanda lives in Los Angles and Iris lives in the countryside of Surrey, England.  Even though they now have a change of scenery and want no contact with men, they are both still depressed and lonely. But things are about to change when Iris’ brother Graham (Law) drops by Iris’ house and meets Amanda. On the other side of the world, Iris meets Miles (Black) a film composer. Romance is in the air and sparks are about to fly. This is a must see movie, that will be enjoyed by the whole family.
