Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak had the unpleasant experience of sitting through 95 minutes to watch RTU hold their side to a goalless draw at the Ohene Djan Stadium yesterday. The Phobians, who squandered more than four good scoring chances, were well organised in midfield but lacked the finishing quality upfront as Skipper Bernard Dong Bortey, Ishmael Addo and Eric Gawu were unable to blend effectively. In the 13th minute the RTU defence was put to a critical test after a Kofi Abanga shot from Eric Nyarko’s cross had to be cleared off the line. Two minutes later Hearts midfielder, Michael Asante, also failed to put his side in the lead after he nodded an Eric Gawu cross inches away from the RTU goal. Kabiru Imoro of RTU sent shivers down the spines of the Phobians when his strong header from the left bounced off the woodwork in the 20th minute. Hearts introduced the likes of Edmund Adzaklo and Raphael Obeng, while RTU brought on Yahaya Abdul and Shilla Alhassan. But like the first half, Hearts ended up squandering the most chances.
