Ghana’s number one music reality TV show, ‘Stars of the Future’ returns for its third season when it premieres in April 2008. This year’s competition coincides with the album release of last year’s winner, Justice. Songs of the much-awaited album is expected to hit the airwaves soon and is sure to blow listeners away, if the breathtaking performances of Justice himself during last year’s edition of show is anything to go by. The search for contestants for this year’s competition begins with two auditioning sessions. The country has been divided into two zones- the Northern and Southern zones- with the first auditioning session scheduled for Kumasi on April 12. The second session comes off on April 19 in Accra, which is the venue for the Southern zone auditioning. ‘Stars of the Future’ presents young men and women between the ages of 16 and 26 years of age, who are alive with possibilities, with an avenue to explore and sharpen their talents with themes such as Gospel, Highlife, hit songs of the 90’s, oldies among others. They bring life to these performances on stage to a live audience and these electrifying renditions are telecast on TV for a wider audience viewership. With Charterhouse as events organizers, in partnership with other sponsors, ‘Stars of the Future’ musical reality show aims to create possibilities for a new crop of talented musicians whose music genres go beyond already established musical boundaries in the country. Special appearances and mentoring sessions by ace musicians in Ghana like Amandzeba, Rex Omar, Josh Laryea and Kwesi Pee serve as an opportunity not only for these experienced musicians to impart their expertise to the contestants but also enables the audience to experience a variety of music styles.
