The winner of the well-publicised Miss Eko Akete Beauty Pageant, organised by the Association of Nigerian Theatre-Arts Practitioners (ANTP) Lagos State chapter, Miss Moji Adejare, is still not enjoying the goodies the organisers promised her. Part of the promise made before the beauty pageant was held was that whoever emerges the winner will be given a Toyota Yari official car and a N200,000 monthly salary. But the integrity of the event came under question when, weeks after Moji emerged the Queen, people still see her taking commercial motorcycles (okada) to keep her numerous appointments. Sources close to the ANTP also disclosed to us that instead of the N200,000 monthly salary, the Queen has so far received only N70,000. When Nollywood Reel called the chairman of ANTP in Lagos, Ajala Jalingo, to speak on the issue, he said “the necessary documents are not ready now. Somebody gave us the vehicle and anything that concerns the government is not always done in a rush. The car has been parked at LTV 8, but she can’t get it now.” Speaking on the N200,000 monthly salary which has not been redeemed, Ajala added that “it is the committee that will comment on that. What concerns me most is the car issue, and I hope I have made myself clear.”
