The Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua has been deserted as a result of the industrial action by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).
A visit to the hospital by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) showed that the usual congestion at the Out Patients Department was missing with a few nurses and other health workers present.
When the GNA visited the wards, however, patients on admission were receiving treatment from doctors and other medical staff.
Some of the nurses, who spoke to the GNA, said despite the strike action they were taking care of the patients on admission.
Some of the private clinics that the GNA visited were full of people who had come to access medical care.
