Attended Achimota College (Won Scholarship) to St. Peter’s College Oxford University, UK where he studied Mathematics, Politics, Econimics and Philosophy 1929 Entered Achimota College. 1940 He was called to the Bar at Middle Temple,London 1941 Returned to Gold Coast and started Private Legal practice but soon joined politics. His Political and Public Life 1947 Founding member of United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). 1948 One of the “Big Six” detained after disturbances in Accra. 1949 Member Gold Coast Legislative Council. 1950 Member Coussey Constitutional Commission. 1962 – 64 Appointed to Supreme Court as Judge Sept. 1966 – 1970 Appointed Chief Justice in National Liberation Council Regime 1966 – 68 Chairman of NLC Political Commission 1968– 69 Chairman of Constitutional Commission. 1970– 72 Head of State in Ghana the Second Republic (He was Ceremonial President) 1979 Died and Buried
