Mr Yahaya Mahama, the Regional Director of EC, told the Ghana News Agency in an
interview on Wednesday that the exercise formed part of the reforms
announced by the EC with regards to the District Level Election. He said the demarcation was purely for the purposes of development,
stressing that it had absolutely nothing to do with traditional issues.
Mr. Mahama said traditional rulers should not think because part of
their traditional area had been carved to form an Electoral Area meant
citizens there would not pay allegiance to them anymore. He appealed to traditional rulers to cooperate with the EC and assist
in educating their people to know the Electoral Areas they belong to.
On the District Level Elections, the EC Regional Director said
nominations had been closed and urged all registered voters to come out and vote for candidates of their choice.
