President Mills has reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring justice for all in the country.
According to the President, in spite of the challenges facing his government, the NDC will deliver on what it promised Ghanaians and will undertake projects that will propel the country to greater heights. “As a party we owe it to the people of Ghana to do exactly what we promised and am happy to say that in spite of the challenges, we are making headway.”
President Mills was speaking at the final funeral rites of the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman Alhaji Sumani Zakari in Tamale.
He noted that, the police has conducted extensive investigations into the murder of Ya-Na Yakubu Andani and would make sure that the culprits are dealt with. “We have conducted very extensive investigation and when ever fresh evidence comes up; we will make sure that those whose names come up face the full rigours of the law”. “Our justice is not partisan; our justice is not ethnic; our justice covers everybody, whether you are in government or outside government.”
President Mills further called on members of the NDC to use the funeral of the former regional chairman as a focal point in ensuring unity in the party and urged them to play their roles in assisting the government to succeed.
“Those of us in the NDC should remember that we have [a] sacred responsibility in ensuring this government succeeds. If this government does not succeed, no NDC government will enjoy the confidence of Ghanaians”.
