The Executive Director of the National Service Secretariat (NSS), Mr. Vincent Senam Kuagbenu has taken a swipe at Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, cautioning her to be refined in her speech and to also speak in an edified manner.
Mr. Kuagbenu believes recent pronouncements by the Former First Lady are unfortunate and does not help the cause of the party.
“All the pronouncements she is making are unfortunate and does not help our cause… she should learn to counsel, edify and encourage people if she really understand the philosophy of the NDC,” he said.
Mrs. Rawlings, at a workshop with purported executives of the Greater Accra branch of the party’s Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) on Tuesday, November 9, lashed out at National Executives of the party, accusing them of hypocrisy and double standards. She is also said to have castigated the NSS and how the Secretariat was being run.
But speaking on CitiFM’s Eye Witness News, Mr. Kuagbenu took exception to comments by the former first lady that he is clueless as to what to do with the National Service Secretariat and warned the former first lady, Nana Konadu, to learn to speak edifyingly.
“She must learn to speak edifying and encouraging…her husband was a president and I expected her to have behaved like some of us were supporting the program when his husband was in power…This kind of pronouncement does not help our cause at all, I wouldn’t have minded her but to have personalized and insulted me the way she is going is unacceptable. How can you say that someone is clueless, at least I don’t know where her understanding of clues are and what she thinks that it’s there in the national service that is not been implemented… to have a forum of our national youth in our Tertiary Institutions and instigating them against people like us is unfortunate,” he said rather angrily.
