The Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency, Hon. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has gone public on the Kufuor led administration’s sex scandals and revealed how the ‘bottom power’ of women influenced political appointments.
Hon. Jumah made the confession on Tuesday 9th November, 2010 when speaking on a Kumasi based radio station FOX FM 97.7
Exposing the moral canker that characterized the kufuor’s administration, he said attempts by his distracters to unseat him will not materialize since the MP seat is not won on a silver platter. According to him, any one aspiring for the Asokwa parliamentary seat must be prepared to campaign on merit and not any other consideration.
He said his successor at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Madam Christiana Appiagyei did not get the KMA post on merit but through the manipulative power of the bottom. “If she says she wants to come, let her come, but she must know that his will be a battle of election. She can secure (the) KMA position with the bottom, but parliamentary seat is won by election.”
This startling revelation comes as no surprise to many insiders of the Kufuor administration who witnessed a series of sexcapades that bedeviled former President Kufuor’s reign.
The infamous Gizelle Yajzi case continues to be a headache for the Kufuor family, as he struggles to sweep the issue of having twins with the woman under the carpet. Gizelle Yajzi, a close confidant of Kufuor in the early part of his administration, was given body guards and special treatment for her job of securing loans for the nation.
Whiles then President Kufuor was taking it cool with Yajzi, Dr Richard Anani, then Minister for Health, was also building a strong sexual relationship with Madam Alexandria O’Brien, resulting in an issue.
Madam Ama Frema Busia, who worked with National Security under the Kufuor led administration, also accused ex-President of seeking sexual favors from her. According to her, her problems with the administration started when she refused to give in to his demands, leading to attempted assassination attempts on her life. She said she had to flee from the country to save her life. Gizelle Yajzi recently praised Mr. Kufuor sexual strength and prowess when she revealed the amorous relationship that characterized her stay at the Castle, the seat of government.
