Ghanaians have been urged to welcome the New Year with righteousness and holiness in order to experience the blessings and favour of God. Preaching the word of God to usher in the New Year on Friday night, Prophet Kwame Darko-Mensah of God’s Disciples College Church at Oyarifa in the Greater Accra Region said: “The Lord wishes His presence to help us and we can only achieve that if we change our attitude and fear him”. He said the year 2010 had its own blessings and curses, “but what God wants from us this year is holiness and righteousness and therefore we must fear him and keep his commandments”. Prophet Darko-Mensah said God hated filthiness and evil, “but what do we see today, our society is full of fornication, adultery and murder and yet we want God to help us.” He said 2011 would be a year of grace and favour since the stronghold of the devil had been destroyed. He supported this with Isaiah 55:11, which says “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth, it shall not return to me empty but shall accomplish that which I purpose and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” The congregation prayed for the peace of the Lord to be on Ghana and for the Him to also grant Ghanaians His wisdom, anointing and blessing.
