Allow Prof. Mills To Choose Running Mate – NDC Students Website
The University of Education, Winneba, (UEW), branch of the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has advised that the processes of selecting a running mate for the party’s presidential candidate should be allowed to operate. He said "We must respect the NDC constitutional provision that the flag bearer reserves the right to select his or her running mate in consultation with the council of elders and the National Executives." This was contained in a press statement signed by Mr Chireh Ibrahim Carlos, the president of the group, and Mr Alex Okyere, Secretary to the group and a copy made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Winneba on Sunday. It said TEIN had confidence and trust in any of the three persons, Mr John Mahama, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni and Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu who are potential running mates to the Professor John Evans Atta Mills. The statement appealed to members of the party to rally behind whoever the flag bearer would choose to be his running mate to enable the party win the 2008 Election.
