Amansie East Undertakes Developmental Projects Website
The Amansie East District Assembly in Ashanti has within the last seven years constructed about 100 basic school blocks with offices, stores and sanitary facilities for some communities in the district. It has also constructed dormitories, dinning halls, community libraries, teachers' bungalows, ICT centres among others for some Senior High Schools in the district. Mr Richard Aboagye, District Chief Executive, who made this known at Bekwai on Thursday, said the assembly had also constructed 53 sanitary facilities throughout the district. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News agency, Mr Aboagye mentioned some of the beneficiary communities as Bekwai, Abodom, Anwiankwanta, Jacobu, Abutanso, Adowa, Dominase, Dompa, Nsutam, Asenso, Gyasikrom, Edwenase and Yawbri. He said girls' hostel had been constructed for the Jacobu Secondary Technical School, two dormitory blocks and a dinning hall each for the Denyaseman and Asiwa Senior High Schools. On health, Mr Aboagye said the assembly had constructed 3-unit nurses' quarters each at Numereso, Dunkuraa, Mile 14 and Tebeso Number one, adding that, rural clinics had also been established at Nsuta and Gyasikrom in the district. He said a mechanized water system and Fire station had been constructed at Bekwai, the district capital, while over 300 boreholes had been dug for some communities to solve their water problems. The DCE appealed to the people to register with the district Mutual Insurance Scheme to benefit from affordable health care for themselves and their families.
