Two HIV/AIDS Care and Support Associations, the Safe Haven Project of the US and the Charles Aikins' 'Live and let Live' Foundation based in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya (AES) district would soon start an HIV/AIDS programme in some selected schools and churches in the district. The Project Co-ordinator of Charles Aikins Foundation, Mrs. Josephine Danquah, told the Ghana News Agency in Winneba on Tuesday that the programme aimed at educating the public on the dangers of the disease would start from Monday, February 11 to Wednesday February 13, 2008. She said there would be a presentation on HIV/AIDS at the District primary and ACM Junior High schools and at the Methodist Church, all in Winneba on February 11. The Programme would continue on February 12 at the Senya Junior and Senior High Schools and the Assemblies of God Central Church at Winneba. Mrs Danquah said on February 13, the team would address school children at the Awutu Obrachire Senior High. She expressed her concern about the increasing rate of HIV/AIDS cases in the area and appealed to the people especially the youth to be careful with their sexual habit to avoid contracting the disease.
