Apostolic Church Rounds Off Easter Convention Website
The Christ Apostolic Church International on Monday climaxed its annual Easter Convention activities with special prayers for the nation, especially, the forthcoming general election scheduled for December this year. Reverend Enoch Osafo, Head Pastor of the Taifa branch of the church led the congregation in the Accra West Area to pray for national unity, growth, prosperity, development, peaceful co-existence among political parties and ethnic groups during the elections. Rev. Osafo asked Ghanaians especially Christians to bury their differences and not be swayed by political party affiliations to disturb the peace prevailing in the country but place the national interest first in all their endeavours. He said, "Ghana is for us all. That is all we have and can claim. We therefore, need to strive to ensure that she is protected always no matter our affiliations and differences we should not to plunge her into crisis." Rev. Osafo appealed to staff of the Electoral Commission not to engage in activities that would cause the public to raise eyebrows and stressed the need for special prayers for them to work efficiently and effectively to ensure peaceful elections. In a sermon, Apostle Emmanuel O. Donkor, General Secretary of the Church said the mystery of Jesus Christ's blessings was revealed in his crucifixion which had brought Salvation to mankind. Apostle Donkor said the crucifixion was also the "seal" of the Salvation which could not be taken away once it was received and asked people all over the world and Ghanaians in particular to take advantage now and make the necessary moves to redeem themselves from the power of sin. "This is the appointed time and we must not wait but act now to be able to enjoy the numerous benefits that come with the Salvation," he told the congregation made up of thousands of worshipers from Accra West and its environs including Taifa, Dome, Abeka, North Kaneshie, Ofankor, Odorkor, Kwashieman, Sakaman, Mallam and Weija. Apostle Donkor asked members of the church to propagate the gospel and win more souls into Christiandom as commanded by Jesus Christ in the Great Commission. "As Jesus Christ appointed evangelists, you must work hard to win more souls and enjoy more blessings," Apostle Donkor added.
