As the nation prepares for the commemoration of National Chocolate Day which coincides with Valentines Day on Thursday, 14th February, Members of the Public have been encouraged to consume more chocolate products in view of the health values of cocoa. Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Tourism and Diaspora Relations gave the advice when he made a statement on National Chocolate Day in Parliament.
The Celebration will be on the theme “Chocolate, A Gift of Love and Health”. He said as part of the celebration, the Ministry will make donations of chocolates and other cocoa products to some communities.
There will also be a trip of school children and tourists to the Tetteh Quashie Cocoa Farm at Mampong, Akuapem. The NDC MP for Wa West, Hon. Joseph Yileh Chireh said emphasis should be placed on introduction of policies to market cocoa products throughout the year rather than focusing only on National Celebrations.
