Don’t Be Goaded On By Greed To Overload Vehicles - Avorga Advises Drivers Website
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Daniel Julius Avorga, Commanding Officer of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service, has stressed the need for drivers not to be influenced by greed and overload their vehicles with either human or cargo. The situation, he said, could result in road accidents. ACP Avorga made the call on Monday when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) contacted him on the measures his outfit was putting in place to ensure an accident-free Easter. He reiterated the advice to drivers to guard against the taking in of alcohol, or driving when exhausted and reminded them that since the lives of the travelling public lay in their hands, drivers should take time off to rest when tired. The MTTU Commander Officer advised pedestrians to always remember to use the walkways, in order to avoid being knocked down by vehicles. He urged members of the public to co-operate with the Police, by volunteering information that would assist them to be more efficient and professional in their investigations.
