The former Minister of Roads Transportation, Dr Richard Anane has been re-nominated for the post.
Dr Anane resigned his post as Roads Transportation Minister to challenge adverse findings made against him by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) in court.
CHRAJ found him guilty of perjury and conflict of interest and recommended his removal from office.
That followed his sexual relationship with an American lady, Ms Alexander Obrien culminating in allegations of corruption and conflict of interest.
But lawyers for Dr Anane argued CHRAJ had no mandate to make such findings against the minister, a decision upheld by the Supreme Court.
Following that the president has re-nominated him for his previous post.
The Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ebenezer Sekyi Hughes communicated the decision of the president to the house this morning, Wednesday, February 13, 2008.
No explanation was offered for his re-nomination as it is the prerogative of the president to choose who he wants to work with at what point in time.
Although some Members of Parliament were of the view that for the sake of morality he ought not to have been re-nominated, others say he was qualified legally to occupy the position.
Dr Anane, who is the MP for Suame, was not in the House toady, Wednesday Feb. 13, 2008 when the announcement was made.
Dr. Anane was embroiled in charges of Conflict of Interest, Corruption and Perjury following his sexual relationship with an American lady.
