The Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drugs Board has threatened legal action against a herbalist who accuses him of demanding sexual favours.
The herbalist, Maame Semenhyia of Semanhyia Herbal Clinic claims that the FDB refused to certify some of her products for sale on the market because she rejected the Chief Executive Officer of the board, Dr. Steve Opuni’s sexual advances.
She said after submitting 14 herbal preparations only two were certified which she was using to treat her patients. According to her, some officials of the FDB invited her to Dr Opuni’s office for a discussion but the FDB boss dismissed her, saying he had not invited her.
She alleged that after leaving, Dr Opuni called her back and proposed to meet her somewhere for a 'nice time', an allegation he flatly denied. Dr Opuni said the claims of the herbalist are false and he has instructed his lawyers to take the issue up. “I have a beautiful wife who is slim and young and I love her,” he said.
