Le Roy Will Keep His Job: GFA Website
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has demonstrated its support for the coach of the Black Stars, Claude Le Roy despite his failing to qualify for the final of the Ghana 2008. Le Roy is said to have stated that the GFA could sack him if he failed to reach the final stage of the competition. But the GFA said the Frenchman should keep his job in spite of the failure to achieve the nation’s dream of annexing the cup to equal Egypt’s five times winning. The Black Stars lost by a lone goal to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun on Thursday in the first semi-final match of the tournament. The coach was blamed for the loss as many believe he got his tactics wrong on the day. He was severely criticised by the public for making poor substitution when the going got tough for the Stars. The Stars will now play the Elephants of Ivory Coast, who lost by a surprised margin of four goals to one to Egypt, for the third place.
