The one year old load shedding exercise embarked on by the Volta River Authority (VRA), is likely to end this weekend, in the absence of any hitches.
The exercise was started as a result of the fall in the water level of the Akosombo Dam.
Joy News sources say the government has put measures in place to restore regular electricity supply to the country.
It will be recalled that Information and National Orientation Minister, Mrs. Oboshie Sai-Cofie told Ghanaians that the load shedding exercises would end by the end of September.
The VRA is expected to make a formal announcement on the energy situation early next week.
Meanwhile, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) is expected to announce increases in utility tariffs soon.
The PURC is expected to announce a 40% increase in tariffs.
The VRA however wants an increment of between 60 and 100 % in electricity bills.
