MTTU Boss Commits Suicide

The Municipal Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit in Techiman, Abubakar Iddrisu is reported to have committed suicide by hanging on the morning of Tuesday January 25. It is not known why Mr Iddrisu hanged himself but neighbours told Citi News that although he looked a bit gloomy in the past days, they had no idea he would take his life. Mr Iddrisu’s pregnant wife who came back home after taking their children to school, fainted when she saw her husband’s dead body. Citi News Brong-Ahafo regional correspondent, Kwadwo Brefo who was at the scene of the incident, reported that the police failed to brief the media on the reasons that led to the death of Mr Abubakar Iddrisu. He added that the wife of Mr Abubakar Iddrisu was rushed to hospital for observation because of her pregnancy. According to Kwadwo Brefo the sister of Mr Abubakar Iddrisu also collapsed upon seeing her brother's corpse. Investigations are still on-going to ascertain the cause of Abubakar Iddrisu’s death.
