A combined force of Yendi and Bimbila police task force at 2 am today raided a house called Kpatihi Naa Yili in Bimbila Township and arrested two people. The police task force arrested Mohammed Bonadoo 31 and Osman Naatogmah 27 who have been transferred to Yendi for reasons yet to be established. Family relations suspect that the arrest to be politically motivated because there have been instances where members of the Kpatihi Naa family have suffered from such humiliations in the past. Mr. Dasana Naatogmah, an uncle to the arrested suspects said the Kpatihi Naa family has been targeted because it is aligned to one of the chieftaincy factions in Bimbila. He was optimistic that Mohammed Bonadoo and Osman Naatogmah have not committed any crime which necessitated their arrest and called for their immediate release. Mr. Dasana Naatogmah warned the security operatives against any further attempt to intimidate and victimize the Kpatihi Naa family relations since they were prepared to fiercely resist such moves. ASP David Ashong, Yendi District Police Crime Officer confirmed the arrest and explained that the suspects were arrested in-connection with some missing AK 47 rifles in Bimbila. He said they were picked to assist the police conduct further investigations to retrieve the missing AK 47 rifles as a means of maintaining law and order in Bimbila and its environs.
