Preserve Legacies Of Present, Past Governments-DCE Website
Ghanaians have been urged to cultivate the culture of maintaining and preserving the legacies of both present and past governments. The Assin South District Chief Executive Madam Millicent Alice Kuranchie gave the advice at a forum organised at Assin Nsuaem as part of activities marking Ghana’s 51st Independence Anniversary celebration in the District. Madam Kuranchie said both present and past governments had achieved a lot for the nation in terms of infrastructure, education and the economy and enjoined the citizens to protect them from deteriorating. “It is only when we are able to hold fast to what we have now and expect new ones to be added to them, that we are on the path of accelerated development,” the DCE said. Madam Kuranchie said we would be marking time if replacements had to be provided for facilities, which had already been provided but, which were not taken care of. She appealed to the citizenry to protect the Constitution to allow democracy and the rule of law to prevail at all times. Earlier the DCE, District Director of Education and District Police Commander had taken the salute at a march past by contingents of 18 schools and civil organizations. Prizes were awarded to schools, which excelled in the march past.
