One of the aspirants vying for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearship, Honourable Captain Retired Nkrabea Effah-Darteh after several interviews from some media houses as to when he would be filing his nomination or would change his intention of contesting for the flagbearship has filed his nomination.
The aspirant who came to the party headquarters in grand style amidst drumming, dancing and singing and some display from some motor riders submitted his forms and a banker’s draft of ¢250million to prove to all and sundry that he was still in the race.
With just a week for the close of nomination, Hon. Capt Rtd. Effah-Darteh has put to rest all speculation from a section of the public that he would either bow out to partner one of the aspirants. Addressing journalists at the party headquarters, the aspirant said he kept long in filing his nomination because in life whatever has to be done, must be done well.
He said if he was elected as the President, he would strengthen and maintain law and order. Hon. Nkrabea Effah-Darteh noted that when he comes to power, he would see to it that indiscipline on the roads are curbed. According to him, there is the need for highly improved local government system where the governance of the people would be brought to their doorsteps. He said he would also concentrate on issues relating to humans and also seek the welfare of teachers.
Adding that every Ghanaian wherever they are should have proper education in order to move the country forward. He further stated that he would fight to win and should he lose the flagbearership, he would go to Parliament.
