I read with awe and trepidation an admonition from “a Reverend Kwarteng Amaning” who now styles himself as the Executive Secretary of the Gospel Evangelical Crusader and Providence Foundation, calling on the Chief Justice to resign. His reason, according to the so-called Reverend Minister and the Executive Secretary for that mouthful organization, is founded mere on moral grounds rather than what the law of the land imposes on the Chief Justice. In fact, Reverend Kwarteng Amaning has demonstrated his utter ignorance on the Constitutional powers bestowed on the Chief Justice as well as Order 79 Rule (1) of C.I. 47 2004, our civil procedure rules which empower the Chief Justice to act in a particular manner in matters of extreme emergencies irrespective of what particular day it is. For the avoidance of doubt, Order 79 rule (1) of C.I 47 2004 states as follows “subject to the Courts Act, 1993 (Act 459) as amended, the Chief Justice may appoint any day including vacations for the hearing of causes or matters as circumstances require”. It is quite strange that the said Reverend Kwarteng Amaning could gather such moral courage to venture into an important national issue which can trigger national disintegration, and if stretched too far could precipitate a constitutional crisis in the country. For one to attempt to impeach on the security of tenure provided by the constitution on the symbolic representatives of the three arms of Government, the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary, in the persons of the President of the Republic of Ghana, the Speaker of Parliament, and the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, one must not only be very knowledgeable of the security of tenure of office and what the 1992 Constitution provides for them but such a person should be of a man of high moral character in the Republic of Ghana. Our elders say that anybody who has a cotton wool soaked with oil stuck in his anus should not attempt to jump over fire; and this is what Rev. Kwarteng Amaning is seeking to do mischievously. The said Rev. Kwarteng Amaning, who holds himself up as representing that so-called mouthful Christian Organization, has no shred of moral standing in society to have ventured to open his foul mouth the way he has done on Her Ladyship, the Chief Justice. In fact, he is such a personality who should have been at Nsawam Prisons where he rightfully belongs to long ago. Rev. Kwarteng Amaning, who has no formal training in law in life, masqueraded in lawyer’s apparel, in fact put on suit, wig and gown and was practising as a lawyer in our law courts in Ghana for years until he was unmasked by a colleague lawyer whom he had engaged in a protracted argument in a Tema Circuit Court before a sitting judge during one of his illegal practices. That particular judge has now been promoted to be a High Court Judge sitting in Accra now. In fact, the presiding Judge was persuaded to allow himself to be drawn into the arena of conflict on grounds of public policy and therefore asked this Rev. Kwarteng Amaning, who is now pontificating on the morals of Her Ladyship the Chief Justice, when he was called to the Bar. Interestingly, the year he claimed to have been his year of call to the Ghana Bar coincided with the year of call of the presiding Judge which means the Judge should have known him as a mate at the Ghana School of Law. The Judge, not convinced, took a long look at the imposter and fraudster, Rev. Kwarteng Amaning and called for the Roll book which was then in the Judge’s chambers. When the roll book was brought, the Judge, un able to find where the name Rev. Kwarteng Amaning was written, handed the book to the fraudster and imposter who calls himself a Reverend Minister, to show the Judge where his name was hidden. As has been the modus operandi of all fraudsters, he fainted; or should I say feigned to have fainted at the Bar where he sat in his borrowed or should I say stolen robe. He acted in perfect consonance with fraudsters’ precision that the court was compelled to rise, enabling him to escape arrest. When he decided to wake up, he escaped in haste from the courtroom with his tail in between his legs. It is this fraudster and imposter now wearing the garb of a Reverend Minister and calling himself the Executive Secretary of a, probably, nonexistent Christian Foundation (I am yet to cross-check if such a Christian Organization is registered with the outfit of the Registrar’s General Department), who has the effrontery to call on the Chief Justice to resign. However, I believe that since crime knows no statute of limitation, it should not be too late to have this man, who doubles in several apparels as and when he perceives mischief, arrested and questioned. I therefore call on the Inspector General of Police to have Reverend Kwarteng Amaning arrested.
