Students from Nandom Senior High School emerged Upper West Regional second cycle schools champions on fundamental human rights quiz competition with 51 points. It would represent the region in the zonal competition to be held either in Tamale or Wa on December 22. Students from Wa Islamic Senior High School came second with 50 points, students from Queen of Peace at Nadowli came third with 47 points and students from Jirapa Senior High School took the fourth position with 24 points. Students from Tumu Senior High/Technical School failed to participate in the quiz. Addressing the contestants, Mr Adams Mumuni, Acting Upper West Regional Director of Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), said CHRAJ initiated the exercise to educate students on fundamental human rights, freedoms and functions of the commission. He said it would in addition, create awareness on human rights issues and sustain the enthusiasm of students in activities of the commission. Mr Mumuni said participating schools were provided with educational materials to prepare for the quiz. He appealed to the students to make good use of the materials provided and research to improve their performance in the quiz in future.
