John Bossman, a 19-year-old driver, has been granted 10,000 Ghana cedis bail with one surety by a Tema Circuit Court for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl.
Bossman, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, would re-appear on February 13 this year.
The court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu was told by prosecution that the victim and her uncle resided in the same vicinity with Bossman at Tema Manhean.
Police Chief Inspector Sarah Acquah said Bossman visited the victim at home on November 15, 2007 when her uncle has gone to work and asked her to accompany him to the market.
Accused person sent the victim to a hotel near the Tema Manhean market, bought her a drink and when she became tipsy he defiled her.
Chief Inspector Acquah said a witness who saw them at the hotel informed the victim's uncle who reported to the police but Bossman bolted when he saw them. He was arrested later.
