The Truth Behind The Absence Of Diana Hopeson. Website
For most music lovers and teaming fans of the newest reality show on TV3, Bands Alive show, it is unclear what has happened to the only female judge Diana akiwumi, now Mrs. Diana Hopeson, whose absence on the show as a judge has caused so much stare and anxiety and has sets the stage for rumour mongering. Well many have probably pinned it to the incident of Latoya in the mentor reality show series where the former thought her views were not respected by the organizers of the show and that sent her packing off from the show as reported by the graphic showbiz. In a telephone interview with myoyonline entertainment over the weekend Mrs. Hopeson declined to all these rumors and said there is no problem between her and the organizers of the show or TV3, and for those who thought she is out of the country, well get the news she is very much in Ghana. For most listeners of the mega hits show on Joy FM, last weekend she was on with the second vice president of MUSIGA, Amandzeba Nat Brew to keep us posted on the aftermath of their meeting with Attorney General Joe Ghartey for the passage of the legal instrument of the copywright Bill which was passed some two years ago. She admitted though that her contract for the show was to be a guest judge at the early stages of the show and when the organizers deem it necessary she would be on, but one thing she is sure about is that she will be at the finals of the show. So for all the fans who are missing her that much, hope this news should set your anxiety to rest. As to how she took her absence from the show especially during the Easter festivities, she said it was very much okay for her and offered her the opportunity to attend to other appointments, coupled with her status as a married woman and president of the Musician Union of Ghana(MUSIGA). She would have however wished to be on the show from start to finish despite these tight schedules, because she believes in giving back to society what it made her become and the only way to reach out to the youth who are her target, was through this show where talent are unearthed. So for fans who are missing her so much that it is about time we staged a demonstration to get the attention of the organizers that we need a balance in the choice of the judges for the show. This is because we can’t rule out the fact that her rich experience in the music industry brought so much excitement to the show. Today president of the union, Diana can be remembered as one of the pioneers who championed the cause of gospel music in Ghana with her frequent releases of soul inspiring songs, notable among them being “Winner”.
