Former president Rawlings has stated that the house-to-house campaign is having a toll on the presidential candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). That, he said accounts for the loss in weight by Prof. Mills, something being misconstrued to mean the Prof. is sick. In an interview with Joy News, Former president Rawlings stressed the flag bearer of the party had indicated to him (Rawlings) that he was well and he had no reason to doubt that. He said it was unfortunate he was linked to efforts at peddling false information about Prof. Mills’ health. He said that when Prof. Mills returns from South Africa where he is currently holding what his aides call business friendly meetings with businessmen in that country, matters pertaining to his health will be fully disclosed. Explaining why he watched the Black Stars matches in the popular stance even though he was given VIP tickets, he said amidst laughter that he felt comfortable sitting amongst the masses adding he could see the action even from the popular stance. In a quick switch of tone, the former president said supporters of the NDC who contributed to the country’s development were being persecuted by the ruling NPP government. He therefore could pretend that all was well by taking a VIP seat.
