Mr. Thomas Ofori-Donkor, the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, has said the country could achieve its millennium goals if workers' actions and attitudes reflected positively on the nation's socio-economic development. He said the numerous challenges confronting the nation required selfless, dedicated and committed civil and public servants with critical and holistic minds to solve them. Mr. Ofori-Donkor was speaking at a farewell ceremony for Mr. Baffour Asare-Bediako, an Assistant Director of Education In-Charge of Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD). He is going on retirement after 35 years' service. The Atwima Nwabiagya District Education Directorate, Conference of Heads of Basic Schools and Saint Justin's Anglican Church at Nkawie organized the ceremony. The DCE paid tribute to Mr. Asare-Bediako for his immense contribution to the social, economic, cultural and political development of the district. "Your hard work, dedication and selflessness have tremendously improved the living standard of the people in the district." Mrs. Dinah Appiah, the District Director of Education, appealed to teachers and other workers in the district to discover and re-discover their potentials to enable them to respond positively to the social, economic and moral needs of the society. Mr. Asare-Bediako expressed his gratitude to the Education Directorate and the people of the district for honoring him and gave the assurance that he would continue to render his services to improve the development of the district.
