Ghana is to participate in the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) North Division Two Rugby Africa Cup to be staged in Mali from July 22-30. Ghana’s team will compete alongside Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad, Benin and Togo in the week-long competition. The Ghanaian team, which has been in camp for the past weeks, will travel by road to Mali with a 23-man playing body and four-member technical team including a doctor to make up the final contingent for the trip. Daniel Kenaz Mensah, General Secretary of the Ghana Rugby Federation (GRF), described Ghana’s team as a fairly new team of very young vibrant individuals who exude confidence and determination to make the nation proud. He said Ghana will seek to make a significant impact in the competition to boost its standings on the African continent. Kenaz Mensah was grateful to Yes Mineral Water and DHL Ghana Limited for providing the team with the necessary assistance ahead of the competition. He called on other corporate bodies to come to the aid of the team to enable it make adequate preparations for the competition.
