The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa-West, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, at the weekend, donated office equipment and furniture, worth GHC6,000, to the Maternity Department of the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital.
The items included medical and domestic fridges, gas cookers, office tables and chairs and assorted delivery equipment.
Presenting the items, the MP expressed the hope that the equipment would adequately position a renovated Isolation Ward, designed to serve the dual purpose of child delivery and practical grounds for students of the soon-to-open Midwifery Training School in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The MP assured the people of his commitment to support projects to benefit everyone in the constituency.
Mr Agyeman-Manu also donated GHC20,000 of his MP’s Common Fund towards the renovation works on the new Maternity Ward and GHC 9,000 towards preparatory works on the training school.
The MP commended the staff of the hospital for uplifting the image of the facility.
He noted that, by dint of hard work and efficient planning by the staff, the hospital had assumed its rightful place.
The hospital’s General Manager, Mr Fred Effah-Yeboah, who received the items, lauded the MP’s efforts and appealed to other well-meaning citizens to emulate him.
