About 100 golfers are expected to parade at the Takoradi Golf Course in the Western Region to vie for this year's Takoradi Open Golf Championship trophy on Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25. Mr Jan Doets, Captain of the Takoradi Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday said the two-day Scratch event, which is open to amateur golfers, would be sponsored by Multiwall Paper Sack (W/A) Limited. He said the event, which would be played under the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Takoradi Golf Club, has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirements. Mr Doets said management of the Club has put in place a number of measures to ensure that the Course is playable and up to standards. He said some of the players who would be participating in the competition include Lee Mensah, Vice Captain of the Takoradi Golf Club as well as Collins Kumah, Kweku Tettedzi, Peter Abrokwah and Mike Ezan. Professor George Ntsiful, President of the Ghana Golf Association would take the ceremonial tee-off.
