All is set for the 12th Annual Tafo Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) Golf Course at Tafo in the Eastern Region. The championship is expected to tee off on Friday, December 7 and end on Saturday, December 8. Dr Francis Oppong, Captain of the Tafo Golf Club, who announced this in Accra on Monday, said the two-day 36-Hole Scratch event, which is open to amateur, junior and professional golfers throughout the country, would be sponsored by Unique Trust Financial Services. He said the event which would be played under the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of Scotland and the local rules of the Tafo Golf Club, has Handicap 18 and below as the entry requirement. Among an array of golfers who had registered for the competition includes Collins Kumah, Kweku Tettedzi, Peter Abrokwah and Dickson Noezar, all of the Achimota Golf Club. The Celebrity Golf Club team would be led by the Captain, Joe Ohemeng as well as Akwasi Opoku, Joe Ampofo, Kobina Quansah and Osweald Amuzu. Professor George Ntsiful, President of the Ghana Golf Association is scheduled to take the ceremonial tee-off. Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chief Executive Officer of Unique Trust Financial Services, who is also the President of the Tafo Golf Club would be the Special Guest of Honour.
